On June the 13th 2024, James Brodie went to go pick up a friend from Auckland Airport. Instead, he left with significant physical and neurological injuries sustained in a car crash.

In the months that followed, James would be largely isolated in his cabin in Te Aroha, New Zealand, only leaving for treatment and occasional visits to church and music events. During this time, James was forced to spend time with God confronting the turmoil of the past 5 years of his life while leaning into his faith more than he had since becoming a Christian at 17.

As he confronted these moments in his walk and progressed in therapy, James started to put together songs in his cabin using acoustic guitar and piano about these experiences and emotions. The result is James Brodie's new solo album BRIDGE, out August 10th 2025
